Requirements:

- Very good attention to detail - most work is deriving data from range of documents and putting it into precedent forms 

- Exceptional data entry skills

- Ability to pick up formulas (such as standard negotiations)

- Can communicate via email with other parties to reach settlements

- Legal experience of some sort (understand the terminology and main functions of a legal practice)

- Experience using WISE, LEX or any other kind of legal software

- Need to be fluent in written and spoken English, good spelling and punctuation

- Stable Internet

- Good with numeracy

- Punctual, organised and thorough with information

- Able to record and document procedures

- Willing to work long-term


Work:

- Opening client files upon receipt of referral (electronic only)

- Drafting court forms

- Loading court forms into system

- Drafting particulars of claim based on a precedent provided by lawyer and forward ‘draft’ to office for checking and filing;

- Once sealed version returned, serving on other side and drafting template email to me to forward to the client

- Considering email from the other side and drafting email to me/client to seek instructions

- Upon response from me/client, drafting precedent response to insurer

- Drafting notices of discontinuance where emailed with request from office (precedent form) and returning to lawyer

- Drafting list of documents where emailed with request from office (precedent form) and returning to lawyer

- Drafting disbursement invoices from report provided by lawyer and forwarding invoices to lawyer via email

- Calculating settlements and drafting emails to staff with those calculation

- Calculating offers of settlement and email to insurer of me (lawyer)

- Sorting and filing court documents as received from court in a timely manner

- High volume files to be managed

- General inbox management - able to assist in clearing inbox daily and direct to relevant parties

- Booking in calendar invites with summaries of events

- Want to manage a team and always be interested to be upskilled for further tasks


Note:

Please note immediate start required but office will close for 3 weeks over Christmas and employee will need to take leave over that period.
