If I see you are are very knowledgeable you may work on building the site. Please look at www.megastardance.com Ideally I would like to collect data from; - Registrations with payment. - what they bought through the site (shopping page) - what scores they got for their performance - Events/ competitions - Participants, schools, and events should have their unique ID for tracking. I guess each event will create unique ID for that unique day. And a participant will get a unique ID for only that day (to discourage reproductions in future). - Entry tickets should be associated with who invited them? is this too much. I attached an EXCEL document showing how I would like to have all database info collected together. (column title can be viewd completed when you click on it) The idea is to have later a query to take out info for convenience. please let me know if this is wise of if database can get too large/ heavy, any impact on size/weight/site slowing down? Is this site best to do in Drupal? Any other suggestions? I like flexibility in design and programing. I don't want to develop a site that gets me dependent on a programer. Please suggest which ALL the Drupal modules needed for this project. Please address each point by writing comments at the end of each section in another color on a word document. here are the different needs in sections. Some are more urgent then others. Registration Form: School teachers apply to have their students participate in the competition. They fill a registration form including (school name, name of students, categories of dance to participate in, by age division, solo or group division). Each entry has a cost according to age division, and dance category. The form needs to automatically detect which cost needs to go according to the preselected selection item as dropdown. Then at bottom it needs to give a grand total of all the entries in form. this of course needs to be connected to Paypal or other payment service. Songs upload: Participants can log in after registration to submit their routine/presentation song they will use on the competition day. We want them to submit this in advance not to leave last minute. What are the impacts of all these mp3 uploads on the site size? How can this be managed temporarly and permanently? Scores: Partcipants will all get scores during the competition day. These scores need to get uploaded to the database for future reference and comparison. Either as directly being entered into the site OR uploaded as a csv file once or multiple times during competition. Thses scores are needed to determine who the winner is, who’s 2nd, 3rd….to get the prizes. This is a crucial step because info needs to be available asap that day. Online shopping: Participants need their participation code to purchase certain shopping items that are reserved for participants only. Then I can track which participants bought what, totals… Diplomas: Participation diplomas will later be printed to each participant. The system should allow me to print out the participant name, their school, date of competition, location…all from the database. The print page shall be in PDF as option with a preview. Can it be automated to print diplomas one after another automatically on same background preset picture? Statistics: (less important now) I want to be able to pull out statistics on schools participation, returning participants, winners… Automatic E-mails: reminders, new events, notices, promotions, mass e-mail Site size: impact on size of site, how to reduce it. All these can be done in steps also not all from day one ready. If so, what are the steps to have ready.
