Il mulino is a gem of a restaurant and one of our absolute favorites to return to time and time again.My husband i are foodies and are willing to travel for a great meal.This restaurant does not disappoint.The owner is hospitable and personally goes over his specials for the day, the staff is attentive but not over the ralph lauren polo shirts cheap top, and best of all the food is delicious.There is a romantic atmosphere with soft italian music in the background, and it is dimly lit.I love the fact that when you are seated almost immediately warm, tasty bread is brought out accompanied by marinated zucchini with olive oil and pepper flakes, a generous helping of delicious cheese and thinly sliced genoa salami.Best of all the entrees are always wonderful.Last night i had the seared tuna special which was superb in a mustard sauce with julienne vegetables, sauteed spinach, and sliced sweet potato and red potatoes.My husband had the mushroom risotto and said it was the best he's ever eaten.Don't miss the desserts.They are all out of this world!This is a 5 star restaurant and i recommend it to anyone who wants a fabulous meal, service and atmosphere to go with it. Have been to this restaurant twice, first time very good, second time not so good.The owner, who is very personable, waited on us the first time and was excellent and food was good and at a fair price.The second time the owner wasn't there and his fill in was too over the top took credit for all the dishes on the menu said he had a lot of culinary"Teaching"And cooked table side filling the entire restaurant with smoke.Nothing was great and could have done a better Buy ralph lauren polo shirts job at home.The prices(Which are written in pencil)Also increased significantly the second time around.Also way to dark very difficult to read the menu. 1 out of 1 found this review helpful First time visit last night with husband.Started off great.Nice outdoor table and beautiful night.Waiter came by with two big blocks of cheese and sliced off some for us to nibble on as we sipped our wine.Bread and a delicious, spicy zucchini mixture.Then it was down hill from here with the service.After 1/2 hour we had to ask for our own menus.We finally ordered only to be asked again15 minutes later if we saw menus yet.Then the cheese man came to the table 3 more times and asked if we got cheese yet.He never went to the table next to us, and they finally spoke up on the 3rd visit to our table.1 hour into our visit we finally got our salad(We did not order appetizers).30 minutes after we finished our salads I finally had to ask if our meal was coming out soon?Waiter went to kitchen and told us a few more minutes.10 minutes later food came out and it was placed down on the table next to us.The women said this isn't what we ordered and i said if it is two chicken specials it is ours.Food finally served.We were seated at 8:30 and got our salad at 9:30 and our meal at 10:15.It was now 10:45 and too late and we were too aggravated to get coffee and dessert and had to ask for our check twice before it arrived.The check arrived in an american express portfolio, but when we put our card down, were told that they do not take american express!One woman at another table asked to speak to a manager and said she would never come back because of the service.The two tables next to us commented to us about the poor service, too.Oh well!
